skin color is dictated by melanin

Skin color is dictated by melanin. The closer your ancestors lived to the equator, the more melanin they have in their skin to protect them from the sun. more melanin means your skin tone is darker, and less melanin means your skin tone is lighter. The only purpose to the color of our skin is how our body can react to the rays of the sun. Those with less melanin and lighter skin tone need to be more careful in the sun and use a stronger sun protection to avoid over-exposure to ultraviolet rays, which contribute to the risk of skin cancer.

THAT IS IT!

skin color has NEVER had anything to do with intelligence, language, or customs. Those are all things that are LEARNED from culture, which is SOMETIMES based on where your "tancestors" came from, but mostly dictated by the experiences of your parents and grandparents. the biggest part of our personality is learned through NURTURE (vs. "nature") based on only a few generations of history.

We spend VERY LITTLE time adapting or practicing things our "TANCESTORS" did 1,000 years ago, or even 100 years ago.... Technology and progress dictate changes to our culture and our behavior. It's very rare that someone ELSE's culture or family history dictates YOUR behavior or culture.

ANYONE WHO SAYS THAT SKIN TONE DICTATES ANYTHING OTHER THAN "SUN RAY ABSORBING" STUFF IS LYING TO YOU AND ULTIMATELY IS JUST TRYING TO MAKE YOU EMBARASSED OR ASHAMED OF YOUR "TANCESTRY"

or think that the color of a persons skin dictates anything about being inferior or superior to another person. Even if someone has a similar skin color to you, the only thing you can assume to have in common is which SPF of sunblock to use...
