People that live further away from the equator have to cover their skin more to protect from the cold, and don't see as much sun throughout the year due to the path the earth travels around the sun.

They are not "equator haters" and are not really CHOOSING to stay this far away from tropical weather and people with darker skin who live in those areas, it's just where their family has lived for several generations.

The suns rays spend more of the year hitting the area of the earth closer to the equator, which creates more of a tropical climate and warmer weather. these people usually wear less layers and over time their skin can be darker than folks who live in the arctic zones.

Again, there are no "arctic circle jerks" or anything that judge the folks who live further from the equator.
